Emotionally Intelligent: Score: 62 ” Great! You’re an emotionally intelligent person. You have great relationships, and you probably find that people approach you for advice.

However, when so many people admire your people skills, it’s easy to lose sight of your own needs. Read our tips below to find out how you can continue to build your EI.

Researchers have found that emotionally intelligent people often have great leadership potential. Realize this potential by seeking opportunities to improve even further.”

The Leadership Motivation Assessment: Score 62 ” This implies a strong motivation to lead.” ” If you’ve found that you are strongly motivated to lead, and you’re already a leader – great! If you’re not already a leader, this is definitely an area you should investigate as you plan your career.

Your score shows that you want to be a leader and that you’ve got the confidence to do it. So, what are your next steps to realizing that ambition? First, learn the foundations of leadership with our article, Core Leadership Theories , and, as we mentioned above, demonstrate Transformational Leadership .”

Leadership style from assessment: Score: 23 “You lean toward a democratic or participative style of leadership. You tend to set the parameters for the work and have the final say on decisions, but you actively involve your team members in the process.

This style can build trust between you and your people, as they’ll likely feel engaged and valued. But it’s not great in a high-pressure situation that requires a fast turnaround, as it will slow you down. And, if you dislike disagreement or conflict, you might struggle with how people respond to consultation. Read more below.”

I am a stickler for good organization in everything. I do not want to have to dig for your answers. For instance, if an assignment asks you to provide three examples of something, I suggest that you number them 1-3 so I can find them easily. I also expect that when you submit something as a narrative, you pay attention to how you organize your thoughts: use paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences; and change paragraphs whenever you introduce a new idea. Also, if there are multiple parts to an assignment, use sub-heads within the paper to organize them.

Introduction:
As a medical professor, I am responsible for designing college assignments and conducting lectures for medical college students. In this Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) assignment, we will focus on leadership styles, traits, and practices. This assignment will help in assessing the role of servant leadership in public health and how it can empower and influence others as they lead. We will review articles and complete activities related to emotional intelligence, leadership motivation assessment, and leadership styles.

Question 1:
After completing the emotional intelligence assessment, I learned that I scored 62, indicating that I am a highly emotionally intelligent person. The test revealed that I listen to others and give them the necessary attention, communicate effectively, and have excellent relationships with others. However, it is crucial for me to stay alert about my needs as well since emotional intelligence could lead to ignoring personal needs. The assessment also highlights that emotionally intelligent people tend to exhibit great leadership potential.

Question 2:
The Leadership Motivation Assessment revealed that I scored 62, which means that I have a strong motivation to lead. This score indicates that I have the confidence to become a leader and possess the necessary skills. After reviewing the core leadership theories, I will work towards demonstrating transformational leadership. Transformational leadership will allow me to inspire and empower people around me, resulting in achieving positive change.

Question 3:
The leadership style assessment highlighted that my leadership style leans more towards democratic or participative style, where I tend to set the parameters for the work and make the final call on decisions but actively involve my team members in the process. Although this style builds trust between me and my team, it may not be suitable in a fast-paced or high-pressure situation as it might slow down the process. Furthermore, if I am not well versed in handling disagreements or conflicts, I may struggle with the consultation process.

Question 4:
Public health professionals should be aware of their personal leadership style, traits, and practices because it shapes how they lead and interact with their team. An individual’s leadership style influences the organization’s culture, practices, and overall functionality. Understanding one’s leadership style helps understand our strengths and weaknesses, which in turn helps us better communicate our ideas effectively, inspire others to achieve a shared goal, and lead change.

Question 5:
Leaders who practice servant leadership and have a strong understanding of their personal leadership traits can successfully lead others and navigate unique challenges that arise in public health. Servant leaders prioritize the needs of their team and empower them to make decisions that promote their growth and success. One example of servant leadership being applied in public health would be a leader prioritizing teamwork and communication during an infectious disease outbreak. This allows the team to work together efficiently towards the common goal of fighting the disease. Another example is creating an environment where employees feel valued and respected, leading to retention, improved morale, and increased productivity.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, this assignment allowed us to understand and compare the different leadership styles and traits among group members. Furthermore, we have gained an understanding of the importance of being aware of our personal leadership style, the impact it has on the organization, and how servant leadership can support effective leadership in public health.
