I am a stickler for good organization in everything. I do not want to have to dig for your answers. For instance, if an assignment asks you to provide three examples of something, I suggest that you number them 1-3 so I can find them easily. I also expect that when you submit something as a narrative, you pay attention to how you organize your thoughts: use paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences; and change paragraphs whenever you introduce a new idea. Also, if there are multiple parts to an assignment, use sub-heads within the paper to organize them.

To get maximum points you need to follow the requirements listed for this assignments 1) look at the word/page limits 2) review and follow APA rules 3) create subheadings to identify the key sections you are presenting and 4) Free from typographical and sentence construction errors.

REMEMBER IN APA FORMAT JOURNAL TITLES AND VOLUME NUMBERS ARE ITALICIZED.

Introduction:

The proposed program aims to address the public health issue of mental health disparities among the LGBTQ+ youth population in the United States. The overarching goal of this program is to decrease the prevalence of mental health disorders and improve access to mental health services among LGBTQ+ youth.

Objectives:

The program’s objectives include increasing awareness and understanding of mental health issues among LGBTQ+ youth, providing culturally competent mental health services, and improving access to mental health services through innovative approaches.

Public Health Issue and Target Population:

The LGBTQ+ youth population in the United States has been found to experience higher rates of mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation, compared to their non-LGBTQ+ peers. This population is also less likely to seek mental health services due to stigma, discrimination, and lack of access. The target population for this program is LGBTQ+ youth aged 13-24 years old.

Challenges and Barriers:

The overall challenges and barriers that create health inequity for this population include societal stigma and discrimination, lack of access to affordable and culturally competent mental health services, and health disparities due to social determinants of health, such as poverty and homelessness.

Program Model:

The program model used for this program is the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) model. This model is suited for the target population and proposed program as it involves the community in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. CBPR also promotes a collaborative approach and empowers community members to address their own health issues.

Epidemiologic Data:

Epidemiologic data supports the need for this program as studies have found that LGBTQ+ youth experience higher rates of mental health disorders. The 2019 National Survey of LGBTQ Youth Mental Health reported that 42% of LGBTQ+ youth seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, compared to 17% of non-LGBTQ+ youth.

Behavioral Health Theory:

The Social Cognitive Theory is used to support the implementation of this program. This theory emphasizes the importance of social support, self-efficacy, and behavioral modeling in individual behavior change. By using this theory, the program aims to empower LGBTQ+ youth to seek mental health services and provide them with the tools to promote their own mental health.

Stakeholders:

The necessary stakeholders involved in implementing this program include LGBTQ+ youth, mental health providers, community-based organizations, policymakers, and school administrators. Strategies to engage stakeholders include developing community coalitions, involving youth in program planning, and utilizing social media platforms for outreach and awareness.

Program Strategies:

The program will involve various strategies, including conducting community needs assessments, developing a referral network of mental health providers, providing youth-friendly and culturally competent mental health services, and implementing a social media campaign to increase awareness and reduce stigma.

Revised Program Budget:

The revised program budget includes costs associated with program implementation, such as personnel, supplies, and marketing. The program also seeks to secure funding through partnerships with community-based organizations and grants.

Outcome and Process Evaluations:

The outcome and process evaluations used to measure the success of the intervention include collecting data on the number of LGBTQ+ youth who seek mental health services, measuring changes in mental health outcomes, and conducting a satisfaction survey with program participants. Indicators include access to care, reduced stigma, and improved mental health outcomes.
