Using the tool mentioned in the question, I identified my leadership style as transformational leadership, with the identification of a Disney character as Simba. The tool accurately described my leadership style, as I aspire to inspire and motivate others towards collective growth and success. Simba, from “The Lion King,” embodies the transformational leader qualities of inspiring others, embracing a vision, and initiating positive change.

For nurse leaders, I believe that both transformational and servant leadership styles are essential. Nurses are at the forefront of patient care, and these leadership styles can promote teamwork, engagement, and patient-centered care. Transformational leadership fosters innovation, change management, and collaboration, while servant leadership ensures the well-being and development of nurses, leading to improved patient outcomes and a positive work environment.

Leadership style is crucial in nursing leadership because it influences the organizational culture, staff morale, and patient outcomes. Effective leadership styles promote open communication, trust, and engagement among healthcare professionals. They also facilitate teamwork, encourage critical thinking, and address the complex challenges faced in the healthcare industry. Therefore, leadership style plays a vital role in shaping the quality of care provided and the overall success of healthcare organizations.
